      The Grand Opening - 27th May 2007

The Railway was opened officially on the 27th May 2007 and despite the rain which persisted most of the day, the opening was attended by almost 100 people.  Tea and Coffee were available in the house as well as a mountain of homemade cake, which had been provided by our good friends.  The ribbon cutting ceremony was at 3 o'clock and our next door neighbour and friend, Margaret, was kind enough to take scissors in hand and cut the burgandy ribbon.

Straight afterwards there was the unveiling of the new items of rolling stock for the railway.  These were kindly given to us by Stennett's Transport a large, local haulage and storage company who have shown a great interest in the Little Orchard Railway and have been very kind to us during the building of the railway.

Stennett's Transport also kindly gave us three trucks, these and Glenda were made especially for us by Compass House Engineering .  The first truck is the driving truck with a fitted brake and the following truck and the box van are for passengers to ride upon.
