| The best place to start is by joining your local model engineering society. This is mine. |
| The best national society to join for the 7¼" gauge, with - sales and wants, news and a question and answer forum. Plus the opportunity to visit other railways, the AGM has been at some of this countries (and now Belgiums) best 7¼" railways. After your local miniature railway society this should be the next thing to join. The quarterly magazine is worth the subscription alone. |

| Some sites which will let you link to the best of railway web sites | |
| The Home Railway Journal is an excellent magazine for all of us interested in miniature railways, but is also probably the only magazine dedicated to building your railway in the garden and there is an article about the LOR in the Autumn edition so go right ahead and order your copy now, if you go to their site you will see we are on the front cover! |
| A massive amount of information and photo's especially for those who wish to model american railroading and they have excellent links to sites all over the world, also they are such nice people. I used to say "Who knows, one day we may be on their listing!" - and now we are!! |
| For all your model engineering needs, local societies, lost models, discussions, help, books, videos and so much more - just try it. |
| This is an excellent website to help organise your visits to railways all over the country |

and go to the Microsoft Office Live tab | It occurred to me that I should thank Bill Gates and everyone at Microsoft for their help, by giving me a free domain and website and an easy programme that has enabled me to write my own web site. Something I have never done before and they have made it so easy. Why not give it a go yourself. |
